Home makeover 1: garden table

I recently moved to Hengelo to do my Master degree research. I have a nice little house at the countryside, which does not have an internet or tv connection. So my evenings turned out to be rather dull. So what does one do? Adding value that is.

Here are my proceedings in the creation of a garden table. There is a lot of old wood available, that had no purpose until now. Just take a look at the pictures.

The plan, made in Google Sketchup.
One of those beams, 5 x 15 x 350 cm approx.
The result of 4 evenings of sawing, drilling and putting things together.
First part of the table top, this hold everything perpendicular and together.
Added some more, notice the additional plank in the middle which runs across.
There are some holes in the top, because of the irregular shape of the planks, but I like it this way, it emphasizes the "ancient" look I think.

That's it for now, it's about 1 x 2 meters large and really heavy. I still have to figure out how to move it to the garden on my own, but I guess a few friends will help out. I still have to paint it though.
